Spring 2014

Hello and a very special shout out to all the children who took part in the Young Voices Tour this year! It was a really successful tour with sell-out arenas and some great solo artists in Stacey Solomon, Keith Semple and Wayne Ellington. Of course it was great as always to work with The Young Voices Band, David Lawrence and Urban Strides . I am already looking forward to next year!

I am really looking forward to meeting some young percussionists on a couple of courses on which I am tutor - National Childrens Orchestra at Easter and The National Youth Brass Band of Wales in the summer. I am really thrilled to be returning to The National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain to appear as guest soloist in 2 concerts. I will be performing Marimba Concerto No. 1 by Ney Rosuaro which is one of my favourites and I am looking forward to working with this excellent wind orchestra under the direction of Glen Price who I have had the pleasure of working with 10 years ago. Do try and come along to the concerts if you can!

I am also very pleased to be working with some of my old colleagues from Fodens Brass Band at The Bolsover Brass Band Summer School where I am guest coach and guest soloist. There are some places still available so book now!

I am very excited to be involved with The European Brass Band Championships in Perth as an adjudicator for the solo competition and as the presenter for the livestream event. Do try and tune in if you can!
