News, snippets and gig updates from Simone!

Autumn 2005
Hello everyone and welcome to this edition of my news page.

It has been a really busy couple of months particularly as BackBeat has just celebrated its' 10th Anniversary with a concert at the RNCM. It really does not seem like 10 years ago that we started the group not knowing if it would last a few months, never mind 10 years!! A big hello to everyone who came to support us at the concert.

I was also thrilled to play before a sell out audience at the Windsor Festival with organist Julian Wilkins. Julian and I will be working together many times next year in both percussion and piano and percussion and organ recitals so try and catch us if you can!

It is always a real treat to work with Ex Cathedra and having joined them on a short trip to Salamanca I will work with them on 2 more occasions this year promoting their latest CD which is a collection of Latin American vespers and songs.

I am looking forward to working with many new faces over the next four weeks in a special project for Ayrshire schools working on Samba music culminating in a massed performance alongside BackBeat which should be real fun! Equivox have 2 more concerts before the end of the year and before we go into the recording studio at the beginning of January to record our latest album. News of the release date and promotional concerts coming soon. I am appearing as guest soloist in several concerts over the next few months and I hope to meet you at one of these performances.

I know I will meet thousands of people at the Young Voices Concerts - always the highlight of my year - and if you are in one of those enormous choirs at any one of the fantastic arenas make sure you give me a big wave! Slightly early for it but seasons greetings to all and hope to see you at one of my concerts soon.

Keep an eye on the diary page for news of my 2006 schedule.
