April 2005
Welcome to this month's newsletter and a very Happy Easter to all!
I am just about to jet off to Malta after a really exciting and busy month. I was thrilled to meet so many young percussionists at the Rochdale Music Festival where I was adjudicating and also very encouraged by the high standard of playing throughout all the classes. Some real talent on show!
I had a fantastic time at the new Scottish Parliament where I gave a concert with Amy Dickson (sax). If you are in Edinburgh check out this fabulous building - it really is quite stunning!
BackBeat's season has started with the first of many performances of David Fanshawe's African Sanctus which we gave in Cheltenham Town Hall to a full house. We always enjoy meeting and working with new choirs and we had a great time with the Cheltenham Bach Choir.
During April and May I am working with BackBeat on several education/workshop projects including 4 days in Dundee and a number of concerts in and around Cheshire.
Keep an eye on my calendar page as there are new dates and events going in all the time.
I hope to see you at one soon!
Best wishes
Simone
