Happy New Year!!

I hope that everyone had a great time over Christmas. I had a very unusual time as I spent Christmas Day travelling to Luxemburg for a Boxing Day concert! It was quite bizarre to wander through deserted airports while my family were at home tucking into tons and tons of food!!

Hello to all who were at the concert is Esch - Alzette Luxemburg - I had a great time and really enjoyed working with the band. I will be back in March to work with the students at the conservatoire and also to play in a concert with BackBeat.

I have just returned from working at Circus Space in London with the Gandini Juggling Quartet. They are giving the premiere of my piece 'Mash' in Barcelona next month and I have had a very exciting time with them working on creating this piece. It is purely for jugglers (there are no instruments - just the bouncing balls) and while I am not a juggler in any sense of the word (I can't even catch one ball!!) it has been very interesting to work with another performance medium!

I am looking forward very much to working in Sefton at the end of the month on a world premiere by Damien Harron for BackBeat Percussion Quartet and the Sefton Youth Big Band. This looks like a great project and the concert on 27th January will also feature both ensembles in their own sets.

Do try and come along if you can!!

Best wishes for now
Simone
