Hello and hope everyone is enjoying a great summer.
A big hello to all who attended the 2 summer schools that I have just returned from - Canford and The Brass Band Summer School. I hope that all delegates enjoyed the courses as much as I did and I look forward to welcoming you all back next year.
Also a hello goes to the percussion section of the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain who I met up with on course at Uppingham School and who I very much enjoyed working with.
Well after all those course and masterclasses I am having a bit of a rest and doing some decorating and pottering around but looking forward very much to some forthcoming events:
Will be great to hook up with Rob Buckland (saxes) and Peter Lawson (piano) for a one hour concert at Chethams School of Music on Saturday 28th August (8.30pm) during the piano summer school that is running at this time.
I begin my own season with a return to Armthorpe Band in Doncaster who I join for a concert on Saturday 4th September (7.30pm) at Doncaster Civic Hall. I last played with the band a few years ago and I am very much looking forward to going back.
A big thank you to all readers of The Brass Herald for your positive comments on the new percussion page - I am quite getting into writing the articles and hope you are all enjoying them!!
Hoping that the weather holds for the rest of the summer!
