News, snippets and gig updates from Simone!

Friday 25th June 2004
Hello again and welcome to the newsletter.

I have been having a great few weeks settling into the new house and watching football! Oh - and doing some concerts as well!!!

A big hello to all 340 children who took part in the Samba Extravaganza at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesborough on Wednesday. What a fantastic day and what a great sound as well!! Can't wait for next year!

I am looking forward to BackBeat's concert on Saturday 26th June at Wakefield Cathedral where we will be playing David Fanshaw's African Sanctus which is always great fun to do.

June and July is when a lot of my education projects happen - in the next couple of weeks I will be in Warrington, Southport and the Isle of Man to work with young people of all ages on a number of things percussive which I am looking forward to very much.

On Friday 9th July I will be back at Wakefield Cathedral to perform Phillip Willbyes' Concerto with the Wakefield youth Orchestra and I have 3 performances with the National Youth Brass Band of Wales in July - 23rd (12 noon) at St. Davids Hall, Cardiff; 23rd (8pm) at the Fishguard Festival: 24th (7.30pm) in Cwbrann.

After that it is on with the summer schools!

With more news in August and best wishes for now.
